๐ No Sacrifice Needed ๐
(JESUS' Sacrifice Covered All Others)
๐Exodus 28:1 And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the PRIEST'S OFFICE, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.
BEFORE the time of the EXODUS from Egypt the heads of families acted as priests and offered sacrifices
(๐Gen 8:20; 26:25; 31:54).
IN EXODUS God chose a PARTICULAR family to act as priests for the whole nation.
๐Exodus 29:9 And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and THE PRIEST'S OFFICE SHALL BE THEIRS for a perpetual statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons.
Aaron was the High Priest. His sons acted as priests. But what was were their duties?
The priests were to:
๐ Offer sacrifices for the people,
๐ Manage the work of the tabernacle, and
๐ Represent the people before God.
IN THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH there is NO special group among believers whom God chooses to be priests.
๐ ALL BELIEVERS IN CHRIST ARE PRIESTS
(๐1 Pet 2:5, 9; ๐Rev 1:6), and
๐ CHRIST IS THE ONLY HIGH PRIEST
(๐Heb 4:14-16; 9:24; 10:19-22).
♻NOW, Christ as High Priest offered himself as a sacrifice to God. This one sacrifice was PERFECT and COMPLETE and TOOK away ALL the SINS of Godสผs people FOREVER.
๐BELIEVERS now as priests have no animal sacrifice to make and NONE IS NEEDED.
The Big BUT...!
BUT they (BELIEVERS) still have something to offer – What is that?
✅Their bodies to live or die for God
(๐Rom 12:1-2; ๐Phil 2:17; ๐2 Tim 4:6; ๐1 John 3:16)
✅Praise to GOD (Abba Father)
(๐Heb 13:15)
✅Their Possessions
(๐Rom 12:13; ๐Gal 6:6, 10; ๐Titus 3:14; ๐Heb 13:2, 16; ๐3 John -5-8), and
✅Their Service
(๐Heb 13:16).
๐ Special Notification
They all (Believers in Christ) have DIRECT ACCESS into Godสผs presence and their work as INTERCESSORS goes on much as that of Old Testament priests
(๐Eph 6:18-20; ๐1 Tim 2:1-2).
